If you’re looking for ‘the one’ it’s important to know what you’re looking for.
Be aware of the type of relationship you want before you go in search of it.
I was totally in tune with what I wanted to find, and I wouldn’t settle for less. I wanted a true internal connection with someone.
I’ll never forget the look on our photographer’s face when he met us.
He said, “you’re not like most of the couples I see”.
Neither of us understood what he meant so we asked.
He said most of the couples he sees who are getting married are cold toward each other, he said he felt a connection between my husband and me and he rarely sees that.
He went on to say that he can see that we listen to what each other have to say and take each other’s opinions into consideration.
He said he’s had couples who won’t even sit together.
On our way home I brought this conversation up because I wanted my husbands takeon it.
He said that he agreed, we aren’t like the 95% of couples out there. Those who are together for other reasons besides love.
If you’re wanting a soul relationship then always strive to be in that 5% of couples, even if it takes you a little longer to get (or a lot longer as it was in my case), be willing to wait for it.
Any other type of relationship just isn’t worth it.
Don’t waste your precious years in the wrong relationship.
The right one feels right on all levels. The wrong ones feel like you have to talk yourself into them.
Trust me I’ve been inside both.
If I ever get asked, I give this one piece of advice about relationships. Life is going to throw so many big challenges at you and you don’t want your primary relationship to be one of those challenges.
The right one feels easy, even when you have a disagreement, it still feels loving and kind.
